Video Tutorial...Dollhouse/carry along case made with a pizza box

This dollhouse/carry along case was made with a store bought pizza box.

I used contact paper that only costs $1.99 per roll, hot glue gun, extra card board to make it sturdy, ribbon and buttons for closure, and rope trim for a handle...oh yeah and sissors of course. You can make this dollhouse/carry along case with any size box to fit the size of your dolls using the same technique as in the video tutorial will demonstrate.

There are walls that are created to go to the next room/dollhouse/carry along case and it will be able to fit right inside the box for storage. You will also be able to stack them on top of each other to give them the effect of a second floor

The Blossom Petal's with the new head's. These new dolls now only measure about 8 inches tall...they use to measure about 8 1/4 inches tall.

Enjoy the video tutorials!

New! Video Journey

I'm introducing a video journey that's doll making and painting with a twist. I hope you join me in my journey. I have a purpose for creating this video journey with a twist. The twist won't  be introduced for quite awhile. So bare with me in patience. The video journey will be viewed here on my blog and on my youtube channel. In this video I have included names that have been an inspiration in my personal growth creatively and in my personal growth emotionally...one being Beth Webber who have inspired the creation of Blossom Petal's.

Blossom Petals With Yarn Hair And New Surprise.

For those who have been following me, you know I prefer using hair that looks realistic. Well, I decided to give yarn hair a chance on my Blossom Petal's...I say "not bad" at all. This particular Blossom Petal has a painted flower and some leaves...she is definitely a unique Blossom.

SURPRISE! Blossom Petal's now has an undershirt body and a new head. In the near future she will also have stocking legs. Prior to the stocking idea, I had already pre-cut several Blossom's. So when I complete the pre-cut bodies, the new one's will have the stocking legs.

Final Draft Of Blossom Raggedy & NEW! Blossom Lady

I will give buyers the privilage of naming their doll.

I Adore big hair [full]. I also prefer the flat feet because I just refuse to see dolls without shoes. Her feet are made for creating very easy shoes. I had created crochet shoes to fit newborns and reborn baby dolls, surprisingly they also fit these dolls.

I also prefer long hair vs short short.

I've been thinking about creating a lady cloth doll for quite some time now. The idea was swimming in my head...I was feeling frustrated and a bit overwhelemed because I was creating her with my mind instead of my heart. Realizing that helped me to ask my inner Universe [heart] to help me formulate it...and don't you know I recieved the pattern idea in the middle of night that very same day. All my dolls creations are made wth very thin legs...they take after me.

She measures about 9 3/4 inches high. Her legs and knees are jointed.

Her head moves, which gives her more posing possibilities. She has pipe cleaner within her arms.

Her feet were designed to wear shoes like Barbie dolls.

Stay connected to view her painted face, new hair, and how she will be dressed. "Think elegant and sophisticated".

Crochet Gazebo For Blossom Petals Cloth Dolls HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I've created this Gazebo crochet pattern. It's simpler to make than it really looks. It's crochet with 100% cotton thread. I've also painted the backdrop.

Carol is dressed awaiting her Valentine's.

Beth and Carol want some chocolate.

This crochet Gazebo will be available to purchase as a pdf pattern when the Blossom's go up for sale. It has 50 color photos to help you construct it. You will be able to embelish it any way you like...isn't that fun!...you won't believe how easy it really is and it's sturdy.

I'm also working on creating the most interesting paper furniture that's sturdy for the Blossom's . They will also be available to purchase as a pattern. Although I'm putting myself to work to create patterns, I am also pleased to know that others will be using my patterns to build on there own creativity...that pleases me a lot because I feel I'm making a difference in someone elses life, and that makes me really happy. So I don't mind putting in a lot of time to help others create.

Baby Cloth Dolls!

Meet my new babies. I haven't named them yet.

I decided to do something different with them. I used black denim sewing thread to make eyelashes. This is a technique I took from a cloth doll artist name Judy Ward. What a cleaver and great idea huh! A Pdf tutorial on making the eyelashes is posted on the bottom of this page. I'm teaching it using my own technique because I believe it's more secure.

Check out her two front teeth...so-o-o-o-o cute.

Painted Canister Holder & Wine Glass

This is a gift I made for my sister and my mother.
The canister's were actually Bailey's canisters. The canisters were given to me by a friend that works in bar & restaurant...I recycled it by painting them with enamal paint and purchased wine glasses from what use to be a 99 cent store for only $1.19 each. All together I only spent about $4.90...talk about bargin and savings.

I turned two plain objects into elegant decor pieces.

                                             Tip

The center around the canister of first picture is a piece of art paper...before I placed it on the canister, I painted the paper first with acrylic paint then I stamped it with ink. I then painted flowers over the background. Using Mod Podge, I carefully decoupaged it on the can...I placed the mod podge on the can first a section at a time, placing the paper and pressing as I add mod podge...mod podge will smudge the stamping ink once you start layering it on top of paper...I layered it using one stroke at a time on each section until it dried to prevent ink smudge. Then I gave it another top layer.

There are different kinds of mod podge. I used Mod Podge Gloss Luster by Plaid.

New Blossom Addition

This doll is my gift to a very special little girl...my niece.

I made this carry along tote bag so she can carry the doll and all her accesories anywhere she pleases.

She will have the security of keeping all her clothes, shoes, and other things she wishes to put in these handy pouches whithout fear of misplacing them or worse losing them.

Ahhh...she is ready to go to her new home.

These Blossom Petal's are on there way to be mass produced. They will be available for purchase next year...I will also be giving some away.

I am working on developing more clothes patterns. But for now I will continue to make these lovely dresses in different fabric prints using the same patterns.

Tip

I don't use any kind of special doll hair...I go to my local beauty supply store and purchase synthetic hair.

The cost of the brand I bought was only $3.99. One pack is enough for about three of my dolls.
When making my first two Blossom Petal's named Carol and Beth I used synthetic weaving hair. I didn't know how to sew it on...I did the best I could. The latest two Blossom Petal's I decided to buy synthetic extension hair...the one used for braiding hair...I found a different way to add the hair and I think it actually works better than the latter. This will be my choice of hair for now on.

I prefer using curly hair. This particular hair is yaky synthetic and the texture is very silky, soft, and shiney. In my opinion it's actually better than the weave synthetic hair I first bought.

I so-o-o-o love the shine.

Because their feet are so small I created a shoe crochet pattern. Besides I really don't know where to purchase shoe's for them or make them out of fabric.

I actually used real vintage fabric to make this dress...cool huh...and what's also cool is that the little girls or women are able to wear the flower hair clips also. The crochet hair clips I originally made them for us female's, I sell them on my women online store...and so they go great because of the doll's theme name.

Blossom Petals

The creation of Blossom Petal's were inspired by Beth who created Mini Free Spirits crochet dolls.

Blossom Petal's measure about 8" tall. Beth is made of a thick muslin fabric and Carol is made of craft velour. Both fabrics were great to work with. I will be experimenting with other fabrics as well to see what works best (I prefer using fabrics that don't ravel when sewing cloth dolls). I used pipe cleaners for the limbs which makes them poss able (also inspired by Beth...she uses them in her crochet Free Spirit dolls).

It was an honor to name the first after you Beth.

All Dressed Up

They are modeling a crochet short sleeve sweater and matching crochet matching shoes...plus a crochet hair clip accessory. They are also rocking a skinny strap dress.
